Harvest
More than five centuries have passed since sugarcane, brought across the New World on the ships of the conquistadors, first arrived in the fields of Latin America. It was in the Dominican Republic in 1546 that the first sugar mills and presses were built; shortly after the conquest, the first sugarcane crops were established in the Cauca Valley.
I remember when I was just a little girl in my beloved Panama and I spent my days crossing the narrow paths that divided the endless fields planted with sugarcane, running after the carts full of cut sugarcane and very occasionally stealthily taking one to taste its sweet nectar.
Sugarcane, present in many Latin American countries, represents the unity of our fields; for this and more reasons, our ZAFRA collection is inspired by sugarcane cultivation, following our brand DNA.
Today we tell you a new story through our silhouettes and prints that once again narrate in depth the daily life of our farmers.
